Launching DUIDefenseMD.com: A New Home for Maryland DUI Education
On October 31st, 2025, the domain DUIDefenseMD.com went live and with it, a focused new brand for my Maryland DUI and serious traffic defense practice at Hadden & Moschkin.
This site is built around a simple idea: if you’re facing a DUI in Maryland, you deserve clear, honest Maryland DUI education before you make big decisions about your future.
From Rockville and Silver Spring to Hyattsville and Greenbelt, my clients all ask the same core questions:
- What is actually going to happen in my case?
- What are the real Maryland DUI penalties and license consequences?
- What can a DUI lawyer realistically do to help?
DUIDefenseMD.com is designed to answer those questions in one place, in plain English and in Spanish.
A Note About Super Lawyers® Rising Stars 2026
I’m honored to share that I’ve been nominated for the 2026 Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers®.
At this stage, it’s a nomination only. The selection process isn’t complete, and I am not permitted to announce any final selection until the official publication date.
If and when the 2026 Rising Stars list is published with my name on it, I’ll post an update here and elsewhere on the site so clients, colleagues, and friends can see the announcement directly from the official source.
For now, I’m taking it as encouragement to keep doing exactly what this new brand is built for: serious, local Maryland DUI defense grounded in education and transparency.
Inside the DUIDefenseMD.com Education Center
The heart of the new site is a robust DUI education center organized around what actually happens in real cases:
- After a DUI Arrest: what you should do in the first 24–72 hours.
- License & MVA Hearings: how deadlines, interlock, and hearings really work.
- Types of DUI Cases: first offense, repeat offender, CDL, under-21, drug DUI.
- Court Process & Strategy: what judges and prosecutors actually care about.
You’ll see pages like:
- Maryland DUI Defense FAQ – straight answers in plain language.
- Interactive Maryland DUI & DWI Guide – a guided walkthrough of the process.
- License Suspension Defense and MVA Hearings – focused on protecting your ability to drive.
- First-Offense DUI in Maryland and Repeat-Offender DUI Defense – separating myth from reality in sentencing and risk.
There is also a growing Spanish-language DUI section, because many of my clients, family members, and community partners speak Spanish at home:
- Abogado DUI en Maryland overview
- A Spanish version of the interactive Maryland DUI guide
- Articles explaining nuevas leyes de tránsito y DUI en Maryland in both English and Spanish
The goal is not to turn you into a lawyer. It’s to give you enough education and context that when we talk about your case, you’re not starting from zero—or from misinformation you picked up on social media.
Preview: The Forthcoming Maryland DUI Practitioner’s Guide
Alongside client-facing content, I’m also finishing a project aimed squarely at lawyers and serious legal consumers: a Maryland DUI Practitioner’s Guide.
This guide grows out of my trial work across Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, and from the more advanced “playbook” content already housed on the site. Here’s a small preview of the outline and how it fits into the new brand.
Part I – Stops, Patterns, and Suppression in Maryland DUI Cases
One early chapter, for example, is:
Chapter 2: Building the Suppression Record at the Roadside
How to use questions, objections, and cross-examination to preserve Fourth Amendment issues when the stop, approach, or expansion of the investigation is shaky—especially in high-volume dockets in Rockville, Silver Spring, Hyattsville, and Upper Marlboro.
This tracks directly with the “After a DUI Stop” and “How We Defend You” content in the education center, but at a deeper, practitioner level.
Part II – Field Sobriety Tests and the Science Behind “Impairment”
Another section digs into standardized field sobriety tests (SFSTs) and their limits:
Chapter 5: SFSTs in the Real World – From NHTSA Manual to Maryland Courtroom
Translating “clues” into cross-examination, dealing with non-ideal roadside conditions, and using video (or the lack of it) to frame officer credibility in Montgomery and Prince George’s County courts.
On the public-facing side of DUIDefenseMD.com, clients see this in pages that explain field sobriety tests in plain English; the practitioner’s guide is where I unpack the underlying research and courtroom strategy.
Part III – Breath, Blood, and Medical Evidence
Here, the guide mirrors and expands on the site’s education around breath and blood tests:
Chapter 8: Breath Testing in Maryland – Records, Repairs, and Reasonable Doubt
Requesting instrument logs, understanding maintenance and interference issues, and turning technical problems into practical arguments judges actually listen to.
Chapter 9: Hospital Blood Draws and Crash Cases
Chain of custody, medical privilege, and framing crash-based DUIs so judges see more than just a lab number.
These chapters are informed by the same cases and patterns that drive the brand’s holiday-weekend enforcement and impaired-driving trends content.
Part IV – The MVA, Collateral Damage, and Sentencing
The last section of the practitioner’s guide connects directly to what clients fear most: losing their license, their job, or their immigration status.
Sample snippet:
Chapter 12: MVA Strategy – Hearing or Interlock, and When Each Makes Sense
How to weigh hearing odds, interlock burdens, and client-specific needs; using the MVA case to support—not undermine—the defense posture in the criminal case.
Chapter 14: Sentencing, Mitigation, and “Real Life”
Building mitigation packages that judges and prosecutors actually read, coordinating treatment and education, and respecting the realities of work, family, and immigration in Maryland DUI sentencing.
Again, the public site explains MVA and sentencing in a client-friendly way; the practitioner’s guide shows how the sausage is made.
