New at DUIDefenseMD.com: Transparent Maryland DUI Pricing, in Plain English

Published: November 21, 2025

Hiring a DUI lawyer in Maryland shouldn’t feel like buying a used car. You shouldn’t have to guess what your case might cost, or wait until a “consultation” just to get a vague number and a hard sell.

That’s why I’m rolling out something I wish had existed when I first started practicing:

A nearly all-scenarios, transparent Maryland DUI pricing page, in writing, on the open internet.

You can see it here:

Why Transparent Pricing Matters in Maryland DUI Cases

Most people have never hired a criminal defense or DUI lawyer before. When they start calling around, they quickly discover:

  • Few firms post any real numbers on their sites.
  • Quotes change depending on who you talk to and how stressed you sound.
  • “Flat fee” can mean very different things from office to office.

At DUIDefenseMD.com, I wanted to make the opposite choice.

As of the date of publication, I am not aware of any other Maryland DUI law firm that publishes this level of detail about fees for nearly every DUI scenario we handle. That’s why I’m comfortable saying:

As of November 21, 2025, our firm is more transparent about DUI pricing than any other Maryland DUI firm we’ve been able to find.

Is it perfect? Not yet. But it’s a big step toward treating clients like adults who deserve clarity up front.

What You’ll Find on Our Pricing Page Right Now

The current version of the pricing page walks through:

  • How our flat fees work in standard DUI, DWI, and serious traffic cases
  • How factors like county, prior record, and case complexity can affect pricing
  • What is included in a typical fee (court dates, negotiations, standard motions)
  • What might be billed separately (for example, expert witnesses or certain appeals)

The point is not to lock you into a one-size-fits-all number. It’s to give you a realistic range and an honest explanation of why your case might be closer to one end of that range or the other.

Coming Soon: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4+ Offense Add-On Pricing

The next major update to the pricing page will be a dedicated section that breaks down typical add-on pricing for repeat offenses:

  • First-Offense DUI: baseline pricing that reflects typical first-offense risk, mitigation, and court time.
  • Second-Offense DUI: added complexity for prior record, mandatory minimums, and more intensive mitigation work.
  • Third-Offense DUI: higher stakes, more aggressive litigation, and extended pre-sentencing preparation.
  • Fourth or 4+ Offenses: complex, high-risk cases where every detail—treatment, supervision, collateral consequences—has to be managed carefully.

The idea is simple: if you know whether this is your first, second, third, or fourth-plus DUI, you should be able to look at a chart and understand roughly what level of investment you’re looking at and why.

When that section goes live, the pricing page will become almost a DUI fee matrix for Maryland—still flexible and case-specific, but honest enough that you can make an informed decision before you ever pick up the phone.

Why “Almost-Fully” Transparent Instead of 100% Locked-In

Could I post a single flat number and promise it fits every case? Sure. Would that be honest? No.

Some Maryland DUI cases are relatively straightforward: one court date, no crash, no injury, no prior record, and a BAC in a certain range.

Others involve:

  • Accidents with injuries or significant property damage
  • Commercial driver’s licenses (CDL) and career-ending consequences
  • Multiple priors or pending charges in multiple courts
  • Complex evidentiary issues, expert witnesses, or lengthy motion practice

For those cases, full transparency doesn’t mean pretending they cost the same as the simplest first-offense DUI. It means:

  • Explaining which factors drive the fee,
  • Showing what is “typical” for each level of case, and
  • Being willing to talk through your specific situation in a straightforward way.

That’s why I describe it as “almost-fully transparent all-scenarios pricing”: there will always be outliers and edge cases, but the vast majority of Maryland DUI clients will be able to see exactly where they fit.

How to Use the Pricing Page (and What It’s Not)

A few ways to use the page responsibly:

  • Reality check: If you’ve talked to another firm and their quote is dramatically above or below what you see on our page, you can ask better questions about why.
  • Budgeting tool: Families can see in advance roughly what they’ll need to set aside, instead of being blindsided.
  • Starting point for a conversation: When you call or submit an intake form, we’re already speaking the same language about scope and expectations.

What it is not:

  • It’s not a binding fee quote for your case until we’ve actually reviewed your facts, history, and court.
  • It’s not a substitute for legal advice or a full strategy discussion about your specific charges.

Think of it as a map, not a contract.

Next Steps: See the Numbers for Yourself

If you’re facing a DUI in Maryland and want to know what this might cost—without wading through sales scripts—start here:

From there, you can:

  • Use the online DUI case evaluation form to tell me what happened, or
  • Call (240) 992-4733 to talk through how your facts, priors, and county line up with the ranges on the page.

Until someone else in Maryland posts something more detailed and more candid, I’m comfortable saying:

As of this publication date, no other Maryland DUI firm is this transparent about pricing.

If that changes, I’ll update this post—and the pricing page—to keep you just as informed as I’d want to be if I were in your position.
